The Diaper Cake!
We had a baby shower last week for a very dear friend and co-worker of mine. I wanted to do something very special for her and for her precious little girl. I had seen pictures of diaper cakes before, but really didn't have any idea how they came together.
I turned to YouTube and found more than what I was looking for! One video that I came across gave me the basic instructions for the cake, while another video helped me to figure out the centrepiece! It was a clip from Martha Stewart's show and a woman was showing the cutest flowers made out of baby items - bibs, socks, facecloths, hats and even onesies! I didn't attempt the onesies, as the bibs were bulky enough as it is. I was pretty pleased with the way it turned out! Not to mention the fact that it made our den smell like baby powder for the couple of weeks that it was there!
So many friends are having little ones these days - I can't wait to make the next cake! :)(I will post the Wish Book and Thank You cards that I made for Sue later on this week!)

Awesome Melissa! Another example of your many talents! What a fabulous idea.
It is beautiful and useful too! I can't bring myself to take it apart. It is still on my dining room table for everyone to see. Nobody can believe it when they see it. Melissa is the most talented person I know....in EVERYTHING she does and one of my best buds, too!!
Thanks again, Melissa! xo sue
